For most of us our home is a reflection of our personality. The way one designs the home speaks a lot about one’s taste, interests and passion. With small changes, new colours and a lot of creativity, the same place can be given a new lease of life and that too without spending a fortune.

Let us look at some very simple ideas which can help you transform your nest.

Give a touch up to the plain walls. Though white walls look elegant, a sense of boredom may set in after a while. You can pep up one wall into a whole new dynamic point in the home. Take out time to relive your childhood memories and paint the wall your heart out.

Greenify your home with indoor plants. It is said that the colour ‘green’ improves one’s concentration. With plants of small and big sizes all around, fresh air spreads all around and stress levels reduce lifting up your mood.

Frame it up. Wall decor is a sure shot way to decorate your home. Frame up the walls with mirrors, personal photographs in bright/rustic frames, maps highlighting your wanderlust, favourite vacation destination etc. You will surely be blown away by the vibrancy it will bring in the house.

Rearrange your furniture. You can create a whole new look for your home simply by rearranging the furniture. Have ample space to move around freely in the house and also catch up on some sports (badminton, cricket, XBox etc.) with kids to rejuvenate and reconnect.

Have a dedicated workplace. While work from home or remote location is now a norm, making the entire home your workstation may create havoc. Have a dedicated place / corner at home to be your workplace. Organise it well to have all you need for work available at one place. Also, do not hesitate to set rules and boundaries for your work station.

Light up your home. Natural sunlight not just lights up the home but also frees it from infectants. However, if there aren’t enough windows, add artificial lights to brighten up areas. Also adding floor lamps & table lamps to reflect the wall lights can give a new warmth to the space.

Best out of waste craft ideas. You can create wall decors, planters, lamps etc. using old bottles, utensils, clothes, furniture, tyres and give your home a personal touch.
